CER-ETH conducts high-quality scientific research in economics. It specializes in public economics, energy and resource economics, macroeconomics, international economics, innovation and risk analysis, and other fields of micro- and macroeconomics. CER-ETH provides teaching for ETH students from all departments. It also hosts the MTEC/ETH Economics Doctoral Program.
CER-ETH offers services to the public sector and private companies. Policy advice covers financial market regulation, energy and climate policy, risk management, and other current policy topics.
CER-ETH also provides consultation services for governmental bodies.
CER-ETH organizes a Research Seminar, in which internationally known researchers present and discuss their work.
For the dissemination of research output, CER-ETH also publishes its own Working Paper Series.
