Learning target: Discussion of traditional and new trade theory and empirics; discussion of importance of public policies; understanding the effects of trade on labor and the environment.
Prerequisites: A basic understanding of microeconomic principles (firm production and supply, consumer demand) is necessary. Regular course attendance is strongly recommended!
Literature: Lecture notes will be provided successively over the course of the semester on this page.
The lecture notes are based on the following textbook: Feenstra, R. C. and A. M. Taylor, International Economics, Worth, New York, 2008. The course will refer to the first part of this book, also available as a separate publication under the title "International Trade".
