In January 2010, I joined the Chair of Macroeconomics: Innovation and Policy as a research assistant and Ph.D. student. Since then, I have completed the Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students in Economics at the Study Center Gerzensee.
I received my M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Cambridge. On an undergraduate level, I studied both, Economics and International Affairs at the University of St. Gallen. Having done various internships, I acquired practical experience in banking, applied economic research and management consulting. If you wish to obtain further information, please have a look at my short CV.
Whilst my interest in economics is broad, I have specialised over the recent years in macroeconomics, with a focus on banking and financial markets. In my thesis, I investigate the impact of financial regulation on macroeconomic stability and welfare. My Ph.D. thesis will cover the following topics:
A Ph.D. requires you to confine yourself to one very specific subject. Nevertheless, there are still many fields in economics I am particularly interested in. These are history of economic thought, unified growth theory, monetary economics and economic history, especially British Industrialisation.
